Hilkka Mäntymäki, a veteran detective from the Finnish town of Oulu who is going through a tough time personally, arrives in Fuengirola with the task of resovering one last case: the mysterious disappearance of a Finnish family. Hilkka will discover in Spain that several pensioners have died in strange circumstances. During his investigation he gets assistance from Andrés Villanueva, a Spanish policeman who is traumatized himself by the murder of his girlfriend at the hands of her Finnish ex-husband.
