Amadeu, a 9-year-old in his first summer camp, gets the help of the camp counselor, who guides him emotionally and teaches him how to catch frogs -the main wish of every child in the camp.
The counselor, while apparently helping him, sexually abuses Amadeu. The next time Amadeu sees a frog and manages to catch it he swallows it whole, a meaningful metaphor of the gap between what the counselor taught him and what Amadeu actually feels.
