It's winter, 1943. Antoni and Sara are a young couple living in the Pyrenees. Sara is expecting a child and the pair's life unfolds amid the strained calm of a territory neighbouring a war they don't know much about. The arrival of a Jewish family fleeing from Nazi persecution turns their quiet lives upside down and their existence is plunged into uncertainty. The new situation they are thrust into unearths contradictory feelings, an internal struggle between head and heart. The past, and the secrets that have remained hidden under the snow for years, are about to come to light. The cold has come to the mountains.
