The Ebro delta, 1902
Years after their daughter's disappearance, Eudald and Ada, a modest fishermen family, hope her unlikely return. When they witness a burial of a youngster from the village, Ada begins to think of a change of life, which Eudald definitely rejects.
Facing her husband's absolute immobility, Ada tries to make him understand that their daughter will never come back. This evidences Eduald's worst side, abusing Ada.
Finally, Ada runs away to the sea, although Eudald won't let her.
