Martha, a 17 year-old girl, is led by circumstances to spend her Christmas holidays in Senegal with her father and her older brother. Martha's fascination for Khouma, a Senegalese cameraman who works filming the tourists' excursions, will add even more tension to her already troubled relationship with her father. Khouma's videos, a compendium of postcard-style clichés that he films in order to please the tourists, will be part of the film and will help Martha discover the inner workings of the tourism business. At the same time, she will start a friendship with Aissatou, a young, hotel cleaning maid with whom she will unexpectedly develop a trusting and strong relationship.
